Patriots re-sign RB White to 1-year deal

The Patriots have resigned running back James White, bringing back a key veteran cog of their offense.

The deal is for one year and according to reports will pay him a guaranteed $2.5 million, returning White to New England for his eighth season.

The Patriots also announced Thursday that they have retained the exclusive rights to fullback Jakob Johnson, a native of Germany who originally was signed by the team in 2019 as part of the league’s Internatio­nal Pathway Program.

Bills: Buffalo agreed to sign free agent running back Matt Breida to a one-year contract. Breida has four years of NFL experience, spending last season with the Miami Dolphins.

Bears: Chicago re-signed defensive back and special teams contributo­r Deandre Houston-carson to a one-year contract.

Cardinals: Arizona added cornerback Malcolm Butler on a one-year deal and also traded center Mason Cole to the Vikings for a sixth-round draft pick.

Falcons: Atlanta finalized deals with running back Mike Davis, linebacker Barkevious Mingo, and cornerback Fabian Moreau. Atlanta also signed linebacker Brandon Copeland and acquired tight end Lee Smith from the Bills for a 2022 seventh-round draft pick.

Rams:l.a. signed pass rusher Leonard Floyd to a four-year $64 million contract.

Seahawks: Seattle signed former San Francisco defensive end Kerry Hyder Jr.

Titans: Tennessee signed receiver Josh Reynolds to a one-year deal.

Washington: Washington signed receiver Adam Humphries to a one-year contract. Note: The National Football League Referees Associatio­n has named Mark Baltz its 2021 Annual Honoree for his 25-year career as an official and 15 years as its treasurer.
