Food distributi­ons planned in April

Catholic Charities, the Regional Food Bank of Northeaste­rn New York and community organizati­ons will continue mass distributi­on of food in April at several area locations on the follow dates:

Volunteers should arrive by 8:15 a.m. to assist in the packaging and distributi­on of food, which will be open to the public at 9:30 a.m. in most places. Catholic Charities, with the Regional Food Bank of Northeaste­rn New York and local community partners, have served over 55,000 people with fresh, frozen and shelfstabl­e food items so far this year.

AAABaby animal days coming to Altamont

ALTAMONT — Families can enjoy baby animals Thursday through May 9 at Indian Ladder Farms, 342 Altamont Road.

The covered outdoor event will feature three exhibits: the Baby Animal Barn with chicks, turkeys, ducklings, goslings, bunnies, lambs, goat kids, pigs and a calf; the Goat Playground featuring goat kids and goat moms; and the new Chicken Café, home to a flock of chickens where children can enter in small groups to feed the birds.

Admission is $10 a person, one adult is free with a paying child up to age 16.

Hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily with admission on a first-come, firstserve­d basis allowing for physical distancing. Masks are required.

Broadalbin blood drive is April 8

BROADALBIN — A “leaders save lives” blood drive will take place 1 to 6 p.m. April 8 at the Broadalbin-kennyetto Fire Company, 14 Pine St.

The drive has been organized by Bianca Ropeter, a junior from Broadalbin-perth High School.
