Man drowns while fishing in Hudson
SCHAGHTICOKE — A fisherman fell into the Hudson River Thursday in the town of Schaghticoke and drowned, State Police said.
Zachary J. Esposito, 27, of Halfmoon, was fishing near River Road in Schaghticoke before falling into the river at around 2:35 p.m., police said. Police received a report that a man had fallen into the Hudson River and not surfaced.
Police, fire companies and the Department of Environmental Conservation searched the area and found Esposito dead in the water. The incident remains under investigation, State Police said.
