She strikes out 11, Silliman hits two HRS for Columbia

Madison Prior threw a no-hitter and Allie Silliman hit two home runs to spark Columbia to a 15-0 win over Albany Tuesday in a Suburban Council softball game.

Prior struck out 11 in shutting down the Falcons. Silliman went 3for-3 and drove in seven runs. Natalie Faas went 2-for-4 with an RBI and a stolen base.

More softball: Shelby Lamont homered for the third straight game as Amsterdam topped Maple Hill 11-0 in a non-league game. Lamont cracked a 3-run home run in the first inning to extend her streak.

Girls’ lacrosse: Delaney Donohue and Molly Gannon scored two goals apiece to lead Queensbury to a 9-7 win over Shenendeho­wa. Lauren Shanahan scored three goals for the Lady Plainsmen . ... M.K. Lescault scored six goals and Allie Connally netted five more as Burnt Hills beat Averill Park 17-11. Julia Gelder scored five goals for Averill Park.

Boys’ lacrosse: Shenendeho­wa jumped out to a 6-1 halftime advantage and coasted past CBA, 9-4, in a Suburban Council contest. Collin Bullock scored three goals and Adam Gilbert added two goals and two assists to lead the Plainsmen offense. Logan Murphy had a goal and an assist to lead the Brothers.

Track and field: Neil Howard broke the 40 year-old Taconic Hills’ school record in the pole vault to help the Titans defeat Coxsackie-athens 79-58. Howard vaulted 13 feet, 3 inches to set the new pole vault mark for Taconic Hills. Howard also had wins in the 110 hurdles (16.1 seconds), 400 hurdles (61.2) and long jump (20-6.5). .. Middleburg­h beat Bishop Gibbons 68-28, but the story of the day was Knights junior Kaurice Bell, who ran a personal-best time of 23.7 seconds in winning the 200 meters. Bell was 0.2 seconds away from breaking the school record. Kirk West (1991) owns the record with a time of 22.3 seconds.
