COLONIE — Barbara Quay, 68, entered eternal life on Monday, June 28, 2021, at St. Peter’s Hospital surrounded by her loving family.

She was born in Albany to the late Salvatore and Phyllis Dimura Lounello.

Barbara was an incredible mother, dedicating every day of her life to her sons. She was a loving wife who cared for and loved her husband dearly. She cared so much about the well being of all her friends and family. She loved vacationin­g anywhere especially the beach with her family.

She was so energetic that when she entered the room it would light up as she was always the life of the party. Barbara loved to hug everyone.

She was a twenty-one-year member of Shaker Ridge Country Club who played weekly golf with her friends and family. She would also love to attend the social outings with family and friends at the club.

Barbara is survived by her beloved husband of forty-six years, Stephen M. Quay; her cherished sons, Chris and Kyle Quay; adored grandma of Colin Quay; her sister Phyllis Lounello; a special part of her life, her niece Kimberly Lounello-crocco; and many other nieces and nephews.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Barbara’s family on Thursday, July 1, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Mcveigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany. Please only enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot doorway. Unvaccinat­ed individual­s must wear a mask and practice social distancing. Funeral services on Friday, July 2, at 10 a.m. in St. Clare’s Church, Colonie, where her funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie, immediatel­y following the funeral Mass.

In lieu of flowers, please send a remembranc­e in Barbara’s memory to either St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or the Wounded Warrior Project.
