Pier, Joseph H. Jr.

— Joseph H. Pier Jr., 68 of Troy, entered into eternal life on Monday, June 28, 2021, at St. Peter’s Hospital. Born in Prince Frederick, Md., he was the son of the late Joseph and Frances White Pier Sr.; and the loving husband to the late Margaret Stockwell Pier.

Mr. Pier served in the U.S. Marine Corps during Vietnam. He returned home and began his career that he loved, driving trucks for various companies. Joe mostly enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

Survivors include his children, Renee Pier and Joseph H. Pier III; and grandchildren, Jimmy (Carla) Valenti, Chrisde Valenti (Jonathan), Ryan Valenti, Chistopher, Jaeme, Alex and Jaxson Pier. He was predeceased by his son Daniel Pier; and his siblings, Charlie, Harry and Debbie Foley. He is also survived by his sister Marie St. John and six greatgrandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11 a.m. in the Wm. Leahy Funeral Home, Troy. Interment will follow in the Elmwood Hill Cemetery. Family and friends are invited and may call from 9 - 11 a.m. on Friday at the funeral home.
