Sixpoint alums launch Hudson brewery, bar

-

Three veterans of the acclaimed Sixpoint Brewery in Brooklyn are developing a brewery in a former warehouse at 726 Columbia St. in Hudson that will launch its beers this fall, with a brewpub on the site projected to open in mid-2022.

Called Return Brewing for its commitment to “old-world craftsmanship while looking ahead toward paradigm-shifting innovation,” according to a statement from the company, it is owned by Mikey Lenane, Jack Liakas and JD Linderman, who were, respectively, the heads of innovation, design and brewing at Sixpoint, the announcement said. Opening in Hudson gives “Return” an additional meaning for Lenane, who grew up across the Hudson River in Coxsackie, the company added.

It will have three styles of beer (descriptions by Return Brewing):

Tavern: Readily available, easy-drinking, accessible formulations … pilsners, porters and IPAS.

Garden: Beers that use creative methods to employ the full bounty of the products of the Hudson Valley, such as honey, fruits and local grains.

Archive: Highly experimental, aged, and often infused beers that are contemplative and unique … blended from a large library of barrel-aged liquids.

Ingredients will be largely from the Hudson Valley, the company said, “with the notable exception of Return’s hoppy ales which will feature specific farms from across the globe to center the unique terroir and characteristics in those exceptional hops.”
