Writer Banks to speak in Saratoga
“Cloudsplitter” author will give keynote address
The Saratoga Book Festival, which was canceled last year due to the coronavirus pandemic, will return this October with a line-up of a dozen authors including American novelist Russell Banks.
The award-winning author of “Cloudsplitter” will be the keynote speaker at the festival at 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 15, at the Saratoga Springs City Center, Broadway. The festival will run through Sunday, Oct. 17, throughout the city including at the Saratoga Springs Public Library, Saratoga Arts and Caffe Lena.
“Our programming committee expects to spotlight emerging local and regional authors, poets, children’s book authors and illustrators, along with some nationally known best-selling authors upstate New York readers love and appreciate,” Founder and President of the festival Ellen Beal said. “Readers should anticipate a diverse range of authors, genres, and formats like panels, moderated discussions, interactive programs, accompanied by author readings, signings and more.”
The festival is still accepting submissions of ideas for author panels and sessions until July 15. Beal said submissions can come from publishers, publicists, and authors from Philadelphia to Montreal, from Buffalo to Boston.
Ideas can be emailed to programming@saratogabookfestival.org and should include all relevant information regarding the book and author including a bio, contact information, publication date and an International Standard Book Number for their book or books.
