Saratoga High girls set national track record

The Saratoga Springs High School quartet of Ella Kurto, Alycia Hart, Mackenzie Hart and Emily Bush set a national record in the 4 x 1 mile relay running as Kinetic Track Club in the Outdoor Nationals meet on Friday in Eugene, Ore.

The four combined for a time of 19 minutes, 40.67 seconds (an average of 4:55.17) to smash the previous mark of 19:56.75, set by New Rochelle, a team from Suffern High School, in 2006.

“It was just an amazing feeling seeing all of our hard work pay off,” Bush said. “And it’s such a great experience being here with some of my best friends. I was just so happy that we finally accomplished our goal.”
