FOURTH OF JULY EVENTS
Here are some Independence Day celebrations planned for the weekend.
Saturday, July 3
11 a.m.: The Rev. Roxanne Booth of The Poor People’s Campaign speaks on “The Third Reconstruction” at Underground Railroad Education Center’s July 4th Oration at the Stephen and Harriet Myers Residence, 194 Livingston Ave., Albany. https:// undergroundrailroadhistory.org.
ASunday, July 4
10 a.m.: Parade starts at Dairyland on Route 20, Sharon Springs, and will feature floats, antiques cars, tractors and groups carrying banners. Food trucks on the front lawn of Sharon Springs Central School
10 a.m. to 4 p.m.: Tours and program on board USS Slater DE766, docked at 141 Broadway, Albany
11 a.m.: Reading of the Declaration of Independence at the Loudonville Green, intersection of routes 9 and 378, Colonie, by Peter G. Crummey, former senior Colonie town justice and court administrator.
AAASponsored by the Greater Loudonville Association. Refreshments provided.
11:30 a.m.: Celebration for our homeless and needy neighbors, chapel followed by picnic for 500 adults and children, Capital City Rescue Mission, 259 South Pearl St., Albany.
Noon to dusk: The parade starts at the entrance to Shenendehowa campus on Route 146 and ends on Clifton Common, Clifton Park. Music, concessions, etc. Fireworks at dusk
5:30 p.m. to dusk: The Washington County Fairgrounds, 392 Old Schuylerville Road, Greenwich. Food trucks and fireworks sponsored by the Fort Miller Group and The Washington County Fairgrounds. Bring blankets and chairs
6 to 10 p.m.: The 45th annual Price Chopper Market 32 celebration at the Empire State Plaza, Albany. Parking vaccination site opens at 5:30 p.m. Official ceremony at 7:45 p.m. Bands, food and at 9:15 p.m., fireworks
9:15 p.m: Fireworks at Hurst Harbor Center, 1 Tugboat Alley, Waterford
