Raisman’s dog flees from fireworks noise
Fireworks frightened former Olympian Aly Raisman’s pet dog on Saturday, causing the canine to run away.
The gymnast said her dog, Mylo, was wearing a leash and tag when it disappeared in the Boston-seaport area.
“Please let me know if you see him. Thank you,” Raisman wrote in an Instagram post Saturday. “I am so appreciative of all of your help and support!
“I have a favor to ask please do not go out and actively search for Mylo,” Raisman added. “He is terrified, and the folks at Missing Dogs Mass advised that we don’t have anyone yelling his name or running around looking for him. I was told that scared dogs will make bad decisions if they are pressured, and that is the last thing that we want to have happen.”
A photo shared by Raisman shows that Mylo has brown fun with white streaks on his face, paws and body.
She urged anyone who sees Mylo to alert her of his location by emailing at lynnraisman@gmail.com.
On Sunday, the Missing Dogs Mass organization asked people to help share fliers in the South Boston and Seaport District areas.
“Places that will get lots of eyeballs — intersections, exits from parking lots, over by the beach, hand to delivery folks, coffee shops etc,“Missing Dogs Mass tweeted.
Raisman also shared an image of fliers that encouraged anyone with information to call 617293-7801, which Raisman said isn’t her personal number.
Raisman, who is from Needham, Mass., won three gold medals at the 2012 and 2016 Olympics as a captain for the Team USA gymnastics team.
