Early morning Rotterdam stabbing under investigation

ROTTERDAM — Town police are investigating a stabbing that occurred on Guilderland Avenue early Friday.

Police said that at 4:08 a.m. they responded to 2558 Guilderland Ave. for multiple 911 calls about a man with stab wounds at that address.

Upon arrival, no victim was found but there was a pool of blood in a nearby parking lot.

Police notified Ellis Hospital and Albany Medical Center of a possible victim en route to their location with stab wounds. Shortly thereafter Ellis Hospital officials told police a 37-year-old man had just arrived at their emergency department with stab wounds. Police said they confirmed that man as the victim in the incident.
