Honor Roll

A look at the week’s top performers:

Gavin Giordano, Averill Park football: The senior quarterbac­k completed five passes Friday night for 87 yards and three touchdowns in a 21-20 win against La Salle.

Nicholas Galuski, Averill Park football: Caught two passes and both went for touchdowns, the first covering 34 yards in the second quarter and the second an 18-yard strike in overtime to help lift the Warriors to a 21-20 overtime decision over La Salle.

JJ Thompson, La Salle football: In addition to his play at linebacker, Thompson scored touchdowns on two short runs and busted off an 84-yard kickoff return for a touchdown in a 21-20 setback against Averill Park.

David Romer, Columbia football: Ran the ball six times for 196 yards and three touchdowns as the Blue Devils beat Albany 42-8.

Griffin Woodell, Glens Falls football: The senior rambled for 241 yards rushing and three touchdowns in a 32-6 win against Gloversvil­le halted after one half because of weather.

Brandon Fish, Hudson Falls football: Carried the ball just four times Saturday and amassed 130 yards and scored three touchdowns in helping the Tigers post a 62-14 win against Scotia.

Kendall Eggleston, Shenendeho­wa field hockey: Scored a goal in a 2-0 win against Guilderlan­d and tallied three goals and one assist in a 7-1 verdict over Columbia.

Emma Mccart, Hoosick Falls field hockey: Over the course of four victories, Mccart registered seven goals and four assists — highlighte­d by three goals and one assist in a 9-0 win against Glens Falls.

Karleigh Mirabile, Shaker field hockey: Produced two goals and one assist in a 5-1 victory over Niskayuna.

Kennedy Swedick, Albany Academy for Girls’ golf: The sophomore posted a six-under round of 66 Tuesday at Mcgregor Links Country Club to take medalist honors at the Section II championsh­ips.

Nicole Criscone, Albany Academy for Girls’ golf: Carded a three-under round of 69 to finish second at the Section II championsh­ips.

Brayden Lock, Glens Falls boys’ golf: The sophomore earned medalist honors at both the Section II B tournament and at the two-day state qualifier, with all three rounds held at Fairways of Halfmoon. He shot seven-over par 151 in his rounds Saturday and Sunday.

Trey Smith, Greenville boys’ golf: After securing top honors Tuesday to help lead the Spartans to the Class C/D team title, Smith returned for weekend play at Fairways of Halfmoon

and carded a two-day total of 153 strokes to finish second at the state qualifier.

Vincent Liquori, Niskayuna boys’ golf: Playing at the varsity level for the first time this fall, Liquori, a junior, claimed medalist honors Thursday at the Class A sectionals with a oneover 73 for fourth at the state qualifier.

Arrica Silliman, Columbia girls’ volleyball: Produced 19 assists and six kills as the Blue Devils swept past Guilderlan­d in three sets.

Carlie Rzeszotars­ki, Burnt Hill girls’ volleyball: The program’s all-time leader in career kills posted 17 in leading the Spartans to a 3-0 triumph over Saratoga Springs.

Gitch Hayes, La Salle boys’ cross country: Cruised to victory in the Division III race at the Burnt Hills Invitation­al Saturday, covering the Spa State Park course in 14 minutes, 51.7 seconds.

Julian Franjieh, Niskayuna boys’ cross country: Finished second in the Division III race (15:14.0) at the Burnt Hills Invitation­al.

Ryan Bush, Saratoga Springs boys’ cross country: Came in third in a time of 15:17.5 in the Division III race at the Burnt Hills Invitation­al.

Emily Bush, Saratoga Springs girls’ cross country: The sophomore continued her strong campaign by taking top honors in the Division III race (17:23.0) at the Burnt Hills Invitation­al, helping the Blue Streaks sweep the top five slots in the standings for the team title.

Mackenzie Hart, Saratoga Springs girls’ cross country: Placed second in the Division III race (17:51.7) at the Burnt Hills Invitation­al.

Ella Kurto, Saratoga Springs girls’ cross country: The senior finished third in the Division III race (17:52.2) at the Burnt Hills Invitation­al.

Rachel Miller, Mohonasen girls’ cross country: The freshman crossed the line in a time of 18:34.8 to earn the win in the Division II race at the Burnt Hills Invitation­al.

Ben Tymeson, Shenendeho­wa boys’ soccer: Delivered two goals and one assist in a 3-0 decision over Burnt Hills.

Gavin Parker, South Glens Falls boys’ soccer: Scored three goals and added an assist in the Bulldogs’ 10-0 win against Hudson Falls.

Andrew Kraszewski, Mechanicvi­lle boys’ soccer: Posted eight goals and two assists as the Red Raiders recorded victories against South Glens Falls (5-0), Cambridge (11-0) and Tamarac (9-3).

Andrew Kusek, Schalmont boys’ soccer: Registered a trio of goals as the Sabres defeated Mohonasen 3-0.

Sam Rogers, Broadalbin-perth boys’ soccer: Tallied three goals and one assist in a 4-0 victory against Glens Falls.

Andrew Shell, OESJ boys’ soccer: Netted three goals and added two assists in a 10-3 decision over Middleburg­h.

Mason Shell, OESJ boys’ soccer: Found the back of the net with four goals in a 10-3 win over Middleburg­h.

Mayah Wheeler, Shaker girls’ soccer: Netted a trio of goals to lead the Blue Bison to a 3-1 victory over Colonie.

Hannah Bachorik, Mohonasen girls’ soccer: Scored two goals and added an assist in a 3-1 win against Holy Names.

Callin Johnson, Voorheesvi­lle girls’ soccer: Netted two goals to go along with an assist in the Blackbirds’ 6-1 win over Albany Academy for Girls.

Team of the week

Albany Academy for Girls golf: The Bears tore apart the competitio­n at the Section II championsh­ips at Mcgregor Links Country Club, taking the top four spots in the individual standings and winning the team honors by 81 strokes.
