Nets hold off Wizards’ rally

Kyrie Irving scored 22 of his 30 points in the first half, and the Brooklyn Nets held off the Washington Wizards 119-118 on Wednesday night when Kyle Kuzma and Spencer Dinwiddie missed 3-pointers in the final seconds.

Lamarcus Aldridge added 27 points for the Nets, and James Harden had 18.

Hornets 111, Celtics 102: Lamelo Ball had 15 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists to lead Charlotte over Boston. Terry Rozier led Charlotte with 28 points. Dennis Schroder paced Boston with 24. Jaylen Brown scored 21.

76ers 123, Magic 110: Joel Embiid tied his career high with 50 points in just 27 minutes, leading a dominant third quarter that carried Philadelph­ia.

Hawks 134, Timberwolv­es 122: Trae Young scored 23 of his 37 points in the third quarter for Atlanta. Former Shenendeho­wa standout Kevin Huerter had 12 points for the Hawks.

Heat 104, Trail Blazers 92: Caleb Martin scored 26 points, Bam Adebayo added 20 points and 11 rebounds, and Miami defeated Portland.

Bulls 117, Cavaliers 104:

Demar Derozan scored 30 points to lead Chicago to victory.

Bucks 126, Grizzlies 114: Milwaukee’s Giannis Antetokoun­mpo and Memphis’ Ja Morant each scored 33 points.

Trade: The Denver Nuggets acquired veteran wing player Bryn Forbes from San Antonio on Wednesday as part of a three-team deal that also included Boston. The Nuggets sent injured players Bol Bol and P.J. Dozier to Boston, and the Celtics dealt Juancho Hernangome­z to San Antonio. The
