ALBANY — Robert E. "Bob" Griffin, 79, passed away on Friday, January 21, 2022, at Albany Medical Center following a short illness.

In 1948, he moved to Albany from Bridgeport, Conn. with his father Alfred, his mother Anna, and his oldest brother, Alan (all of whom predeceased him). His father relocated to Albany for business reasons.

Bob was a 1960 graduate of Vincention Institute. In 1966, he graduated from St. Joseph’s College in Indiana with a B.A. in English literature. For more than 30 years, Bob taught English at Christian Brothers Academy (C.B.A) from 1966 until 1998. He was department chairman from 1973 until 1998.

During all of his teaching years, he enjoyed his part time work in the restaurant business. He especially enjoyed the time spent working as a bartender at the Saratoga Race Track. In last years, he really enjoyed time spent with Casey, his cat.

For the past few years, Bob became an active member of the Albany Curling Club and could be found most mornings enjoying breakfast with his friends at Jack’s Diner.

Survivors include his nephew, AJ Griffin; niece, Kalan More; and sister-in-law, Kathy Bovina.
