Guilderlan­d gets past Averill Park

Dutchmen rally for four runs in the seventh inning to overtake the Warriors

Guilderlan­d rallied for four runs in the top of the seventh as the Dutchmen won 6-4 over Averill Park in a Suburban Council matchup in Averill Park.

Nick Plue started the rally with a single to lead off the inning. Dan Keaney followed with a single, advancing Plue to second. The Warriors went to the bullpen, calling in Brady Mazzeo to replace starter Ethan Nardacci, but it was to no avail. Mazzeo was wild on his first pitch, advancing Plue and Keaney.

Aiden Chrysler then ripped the next pitch to left, scoring Plue and sending Keaney to third. After Mazzeo got Colin Lynch on a grounder for the first out of the inning, Mazzeo threw another wild pitch, with Keaney scoring on the play.

Evan Schreivogl then singled on a nine-pitch showdown with Mazzeo, sending Chrysler home as the Dutchmen took their first lead of the game.

Schreivogl then stole second and third, before Brendan Curry squeezed him home for the final Dutchmen’s run.

Guilderlan­d starter Ty Santabarba­ra finished what he started, getting Aiden Mccue on a groundout to end the game. Santabarba­ra threw 122 pitches, striking out eight and walking six for the win.

Plue finished 3-for-4 with two runs scored from the leadoff spot, while Schreivogl finished 2-for-4 with two runs scored and an RBI.

Matt Dejulio led the Warriors, going 2-for-2 with a run scored and an RBI. Nardacci struck out five over six innings.

Girls’ lacrosse: Mackenzie Dixson scored seven goals and had one assist to lead Greenwich over Amsterdam 15-13 in a Foothills Council clash. Greenwich led 8-7 at the break and then held on through a close second half. Maeve Kelleher added three goals and two assists, and Haley Zanella also scored three goals. Ryan Skiff stopped 22 shots for the Witches. Sydney Hoefs scored seven goals to lead the Rams, and Olivia Dion had nine saves in the Amsterdam net.

Boys’ lacrosse: Dane Jones scored four goals and had one assist, Dan Johnson added four goals and Bethlehem won 9-3 over CBA in a Suburban Council matchup. Evan Dilligent scored the final goal for the Eagles, who led 6-2 at halftime. Logan Murphy led CBA with two goals, while Ben Keens had 10 saves in the net for the Brothers. Tyler Novak stopped 20 shots for Bethlehem.
