Four new Eagle Scouts
Sworn in Saturday as Eagle Scouts are Bethlehem sophomore Luke Zito, left; Bethlehem sophomore Grant Rinckey; Niskayuna freshman Kevin Tully; and Bethlehem sophomore Sean Meek. More than 100 people attended the ceremony at the Hangar at 743 in Latham.
Meek’s project involved designing and building garden planters for Our Lady of Mercy Life Center. Rinckey organized a toiletry drive for the VA Hospital and installed a stone path and built wooden birdhouses and bird feeders for the hospital’s Fisher House. Tully raised $800 for supplies and donated more than 400 hours of time to build equipment used by the Niskayuna Little League. Zito sourced material for and coordinated the making of hundreds of face masks for first responders during the pandemic. Standing: Niskayuna Town Deputy Supervisor Jessica Brennan, left, Assemblyman Philip Steck, U.S. Rep. Paul Tonko, Niskayuna Supervisor Jaime Puccioni, Niskayuna Superintendent Juliette Pennyman and Schenectady County Legislator Michelle Osterlich.
