Guntrum, Joan E.

LATHAM — Joan Elodie Guntrum, 85, passed away peacefully on Friday, May 6, 2022.

Born in Troy on April 5, 1937, she was the daughter of the late Ernest and Dorothy Herklotz. Joan grew up in Watervliet. When she was 18, she moved to Latham into the house that would remain her residence for the rest of her life. She married her beloved husband, the late Rollo Guntrum, on February 19, 1965, and together they shared 47 wonderful years of marriage until his passing in 2012.

Joan lived for her family. Nothing made her happier than the time she spent with her grandchildren and most recently, with her adorable great-granddaughter, Ellody. She greatly enjoyed the visits and Sunday dinners with everyone she loved.

Joan is survived by her daughter, Michele (Geoffrey) Van Epps of Loudonville; her grandchildren, Evan Van Epps of Lake Luzerne, Megan (Razario) Minarchi of Colonie, and Dylan Van Epps of Loudonville; her great-granddaughter, Ellody Minarchi; and her dear friends, Marie (late Paul) Van Alstyne and Sarita (Michael) Hutchens. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rollo; and her sister, Carole (Robert survives) Johns.

Funeral services for Joan will be held privately at the convenience of her family.
