— Raymond V. Swartz, 74 of Rensselaer, passed away on Monday, May 9, 2022, at the Hospice Inn at St. Peter’s Hospital.

Raymond was born in Albany, the son of the late William and Mildred (Houghtaling) Swartz. He was a forklift operator for Goodyear Tire.

Survivors include his daughter, Collien Atchinson; sisters, Shirley Selmer and Loretta Cipperly-walsh; grandchildren, Shannon Miers; great-grandchildren, Celina Miers, and Justin Miers Jr.; and three best friends, Richard Nestler, Marc Koehler and Edward Mackey. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife, Virginia M. Swartz; son, Raymond Swartz Jr.; and sisters, Minnie Swartz and Mildred Swartz.

The family wishes to thank the Community Hospice for all they did during Raymond’s stay.

Relatives and friends may call from 11 a.m. - 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Wm. J. Rockefeller Funeral Home Inc., 165 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer, followed by a funeral service at 1 p.m.
