Munoz’s 60 tops in first round at Byron Nelson
MCKINNEY, Texas — Sebastian Munoz shot a 12-under 60 in the opening round of the Byron Nelson on Thursday, to become the first player in PGA Tour history with two rounds of 60 or better in the same season.
Munoz has a four-stroke lead over K.H. Lee, Justin Lower, Mito Pereira and Peter Malnati.
Munoz also had a 60 in the first round of the the RSM Classic at Seaside in Georgia in November, although that was a 10-under score. He finished third.

Boxing: Dutch boxing federation president Boris van der Vorst was taken out of Friday’s International Boxing Association election by an independent candidate vetting panel after an investigation of complaints that included claims of “prohibited collaboration” and campaigning.
Colleges: Wake Forest has fired women’s basketball coach Jen Hoover, a former Demon Deacons player, after 10 seasons.
Soccer: Tottenham beat Arsenal 3-0 to tighten the race to the final Champions League qualification position.
Tennis: Rafael Nadal battled a foot injury in a 1-6, 7-5, 6-2 thirdround loss to Denis Shapovalov at the Italian Open. Top-ranked Novak Djokovic beat Stan Wawrinka 6-2, 6-2. Top-ranked Iga Swiatek defeated former No. 1 Victoria Azarenka 6-4, 6-1 to reach the quarterfinals.
