Ormerod spurs Riders
Ichabod Crane pitcher no-hits Lansingburgh
Morgan Ormerod struck out 14 of the 17 batters she faced in throwing a no-hitter over five innings to lead Ichabod Crane to a 12-0 win over Lansingburgh on Thursday in Valatie.
Clare Knapp and Emma Scheitinger both homered and drove in a combined five runs for the Riders. Ormerod had a hit and scored twice for the undefeated Riders (17-0, 17-0).
More softball: Tamarac clinched the Wasaren League title with a 4-1 win over Greenwich. Bella Delorenzo, Jaelyn Stemp and Cameron Mcclurg drove in runs to highlight a three-run second-inning rally by the Bengals. Toni Delorenzo pitched a completegame three-hitter with two strikeouts. ... Lauren Archambeault pitched a no-hitter and struck out eight in Cambridge’s 20-0 win over Waterford. Jaylyn Prouty smacked a three-run home run in the win.
Baseball: Brady Holzhauer pitched a complete-game three-hit shutout with nine strikeouts to lead Ichabod Crane to a 4-0 win over Lansingburgh. Holzhauer also stole a base and scored a run in the win. Nate Garafalo doubled, tripled and scored a run.
Boys’ lacrosse: Azai Baker scored eight goals and added two assists as Mohonasen/schenectady topped Catholic Central 18-5 in a Colonial Council game.
