Miami ousts 76ers 99-90; next up is Bucks or Celtics

Jimmy Butler scored 32 points and waved “bye bye” to the Philadelph­ia crowd as he sent the Miami Heat into the Eastern Conference final with a 99-90 victory over the Philadelph­ia 76ers on Thursday night in Game 6.

Miami will play the winner of the Milwaukee-boston series, which the defending champion Bucks lead 3-2, with Game 6 on Friday night in Milwaukee.

The Heat reached the conference final for the second time in three seasons.

Butler left Philly after the 2019 season. He scored 14 points in the third quarter, when the Heat used a 16-2 run to take control.

NBA scoring champion Joel Embiid scored 20 points for Philadelph­ia on 7-for-24 shooting.

Notes: Memphis general manager Zach Kleiman, 33, is the NBA basketball executive of the year, the youngest to win the award.
