South Colonie students win state energy competition
Two South Colonie Middle School Kidwind teams recently won the state competition and qualified for the national Kidwind Challenge in San Antonio, Texas, from Monday to Friday. The Kidwind Challenge engages students through the lens of wind and solar energy where student teams design, construct and test small scale wind turbines. The teams will use data analytics, critical thinking, creative problem solving and presentation skills to highlight their ideas on how to solve the challenge of finding effective clean energy solutions.
