Free food for all
Above, Ben Atwood of Radix Ecological Sustainability Center stocks a refrigerator-freezer as part of the Free Food Fridge Albany project started by Albany-based community activist Jammella Anderson. The project’s goal is to serve as a food access point to neighborhoods including those that are food-insecure, systematically oppressed or marginalized. At right, Atwood is joined by Lamiek Cancer, outreach worker with Albany 518 SNUG, a program aimed at reducing gun violence. Artwork on the fridge was done by Rachel A. Baxter.
