SIDNEY — Our beloved husband and father, Charles Lafave, 80 of Sidney, N.Y., passed away on Wednesday, May 11, 2022, at 5:15 p.m.

Born in Cohoes to Ellis and Yvonne Lafave, he graduated from Heatley High School and Hudson Valley Community College in Troy. After many years of traveling with Honeywell as a quality control analyst, he retired in Sidney in 2002. He enjoyed Thursday coffee gettogethe­rs with his closest friends, Vic, Jim, Wayne and Jim, and once a week, he enjoyed going to the Community Lounge with his many friends there.

Chuck is survived by his wife of 50 years, Marge; and his sons, who were his pride and joy, William (Siobhan) Lafave of Troy and Joseph Lafave of Binghamton. He is also survived by his siblings, Sharon (John, deceased) Burns, Robert (Olga) Lafave, both of The Villages, Fla., and Lawrence (Mary) Lafave of Downingtow­n, Pa.; brotherin-law, Jerry Bissell of Cohoes, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predecease­d by his two sisters, Beverly Bissell and Marylin Berlyn; as well as his granddaugh­ter, Zoe Katherine. Chuck will be dearly missed by all of his family, his friends and his cats.

We know you will rest in peace, Chuck.

The family would like to thank Helios for their care and beautiful flowers for Chuck’s 80th birthday.

Friends may call on Tuesday, May 24, from 3-5 p.m. at the C.H. Landers Funeral Chapel, 21 Main St., Sidney. A Mass in the Sacred Heart Church, 15 Liberty St., Sidney, will be held on Wednesday, May 25, at 10:30 a.m. Due to COVID-19 restrictio­ns, there will be a celebratio­n of his happy life at a later date.
