It’s a boy for Rihanna, ASAP
Pop star Rihanna and rapper boyfriend ASAP Rocky have reportedly welcomed their first child.
The couple had a boy May 13 in Los Angeles, according to TMZ. No other details were available.
Representatives for the couple did not immediately respond Thursday to the L.A. Ti1mes’ request for confirmation.
The child, whose name is not yet known, is the first for the “Diamonds” singer, 34, and the “Fashion Killa” artist, 33.
The couple surprised fans in late January when they casually announced Rihanna’s pregnancy with a series of baby bump photos on Instagram.
The Fenty Beauty and Savage X Fenty founder has made headlines throughout her pregnancy for flouting traditional maternity style with her barely there looks. In April, Riri was tapped as Vogue’s cover star and was immortalized in marble in May when a sculpture of the nine-time Grammy winner’s pregnant figure was erected at the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
The fashionable musician, who has co-chaired the museum’s glitzy Met Gala in the past, did not attend this year’s gilded, glamour-themed festivities.
ASAP also has made headlines recently, but for more damning reasons.
He was arrested at LAX airport last month and charged for assault with a deadly weapon in connection with a November incident in which Los Angeles police say he shot at a person in Hollywood. — Los Angeles Times
Rosmarie Trapp, 93, dies in Vermont
Rosmarie Trapp,
whose Austrian family the von Trapps was made famous in the musical and beloved movie “The Sound of Music,” has died.
She died Friday at the
age of 93 at a nursing home in Morrisville, Vt., Trapp Family Lodge announced. Her brother Johannes is president of the Stowe resort.
Rosmarie was the first daughter of Austrian naval Capt. Georg von Trapp and Maria von Trapp, and a younger half-sibling to the older von Trapp children portrayed on stage and in the movie. The family escaped from Nazi-occupied Austria in 1938 and performed singing tours throughout Europe and America. They settled in Vermont in the early 1940s and opened a ski lodge in Stowe.
“She traveled and performed with the Trapp Family Singers for many years, and worked at the Trapp Family Lodge in its infancy when the family first began hosting guests in their home,” Trapp Family Lodge said in a statement.
“Her kindness, generosity, and colorful spirit were legendary, and she had a positive impact on countless lives,” the statement said.
“The Sound of Music,” was based loosely on a 1949 book by Maria von Trapp. Georg von Trapp and his first wife, Agathe Whitehead von Trapp, had seven children. After his first wife died, Georg married Maria, who taught the children music.
Georg and Maria von Trapp had three more children, Rosmarie, Eleonore and Johannes, who were not portrayed in the movie. Eleonore “Lorli” von Trapp Campbell died in October in Northfield, Vt.

Mackie: Kardashian gown “a big mistake”

That’s according to fashion designer Bob Mackie, who said the reality TV superstar made a “big mistake” by wearing the same gown Marilyn
Monroe wore to sing “Happy Birthday” to President John F. Kennedy Jr. at Madison Square Garden 60
years earlier.
“I thought it was a big mistake,” the 82-year-old designer told Entertainment Weekly. “(Marilyn) was a goddess. A crazy goddess, but a goddess. She was just fabulous. Nobody photographs like that. And it was done for her. It was designed for her. Nobody else should be seen in that dress.”
Mackie, known for sculpting iconic looks for the likes of Diana Ross, Cher, Barbra Streisand and Liza Minnelli
during the height of their careers, was the 23-year-old apprentice to Oscar-nominated, French designer Jean Louis, who made the shimmering skintight rhinestone gown.
The Tony Award-winning Television Hall of Famer drew the sketch for the original gown and said that Louis didn’t know the exact occasion the Hollywood bombshell would wear the original design to.
