Make N.Y. a model of climate-responsible agriculture
With the announcement of Antonio Delgado as lieutenant governor, Gov. Kathy Hochul and Delgado have a huge opportunity to bring climate change action, agricultural support and environmental awareness to the forefront. Delgado is well positioned to lead a state effort to be a model for governmental climate action solutions. Large efforts require coordination and leadership from government.
New York has been an environmental leader and is exposed to climate change cost and damages. New York agriculture shall become more important in the coming decades as other parts of the country become unsustainable. To accomplish this, align New York with Native Americans, agriculture, environmentalists and business interests. These solutions will transform the lieutenant governor’s position for the public interest.
