— Caroleanne Wheland passed away peacefully on May 17, 2022, surrounded by her loving family.

Caroleanne was a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. The most important thing in her life was her family. She was always concerned about everyone else and put herself last. She was strong, independent, and funny, but most of all caring and compassionate.

One of her favorite things to do was to watch her Buffalo Bills football. She was an avid fan since 1960. Her all-time favorite player was QB # 12 Jim Kelly, but QB #17 Josh Allen was definitely a close second.

Caroleanne worked at Columbia High School in the cafeteria from 1982-2020. She loved all the students. If you happened to attend during these years, chances are she may have made or bought your lunch for you.

She leaves behind her daughter, Joyce Marie Demers; son, Anthony Charles Wheland (Marco Morales); her grandson, Timothy Ryan Cullum (Taylor Deanne); her granddaughter, Taylor Marie Demers; and two great-granddaughters, Emmy and Adalyn, who loved her so much they called her Honey. She also leaves behind her sister and best friend, Marilyn Ellerbrock (James); and her niece and nephew, Marie Sochocki and Michael Ellerbrock. She is also survived by several other nieces, nephews, cousins, and her closest friend, Sharon Fromma.

Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Caroleanne’s family on Tuesday, May 24, from 5 to 7 p.m. in the Mcveigh Funeral Home, 208 North Allen St., Albany. North Allen St., Albany. Please only enter the funeral home from the rear parking lot entrance. A memorial Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, May 25, at 9:30 a.m. in The Church of St. Mary at Clinton Heights, 163 Columbia Tpke., Rensselaer. The Mass may be viewed on the Facebook page for the Church of St. Mary at Clinton Heights.
