Van Beusichem, Virginia A.
CASTLETON — Virginia A. Van Beusichem, age 93, died in her home in Castleton on May 17, 2022.
Born in Albany, Jinny spent much of her life in Castleton-on-hudson. She was a 1947 graduate of Castleton Union School and completed her schooling with two years at Albany Business School. Jinny worked at many local businesses including the Fort Orange Paper Company, the Nuts and Bolt Company, and N.Y. Telephone in downtown Albany for 24 years before retiring.
Jinny enjoyed bowling and traveling with her daughter, June, who predeceased her in 2009. She was an avid cat lover, an excellent seamstress who spent hours quilting, crocheting, and cross-stitching, and enjoyed participating in various church activities including the choir and administrative duties. She also enjoyed spending time at the Castleton Seniors Club on Thursdays.
The daughter of the late John and Johanna Johnson of Castleton, Jinny is survived by her daughters, Sandra Schanck (Robert), and Dorothy Van Beusichem (Richard); six grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandson, and her cat, Itty-bit. She was predeceased by her sister, Jean Hutchings, in 2018.

Relatives and friends are invited to call at the Castleton Funeral Home, 59 Seaman Ave., Castleton from 3 - 5 p.m. on May 25, followed by a memorial service. A private graveside burial will follow the service in the follow the service in the Mountain View Cemetery, Scott Avenue, Castleton.
