Third suspect charged in Jan. 29 homicide
Mcgough of Schenectady is accused in Richmondville death of Connor Delaney
An 18-year-old who had been wanted in connection with a Jan. 29 homicide turned himself in on
Monday, State Police said.
Jeffrey A. Mcgough, of Schenectady, was charged with second-degree murder, robbery and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with the death of Connor Delaney. Delaney, 21, was killed inside his Schoharie County home on Hite Road on Jan. 29. Delaney’s dog was also killed.
Mcgough was arraigned in Richmondville town court and sent to the Schoharie County jail without bail.
Eoin Delaney, Connor’s brother, previously told the Times Union that his older brother sold marijuana and that he was robbed and shot to death by acquaintances who knew he was a dealer. State Police confirmed Delaney’s killing was a “drug-related and targeted event.”
State Police called Delaney’s death a “very vicious, heinous and violent crime” when they announced two other arrests in March.
Devon Hunter, 18, of Schenectady, and a 17year-old, whose name was not released because of his age, were charged with second-degree murder, first-degree robbery and criminal weapon possession.
