Purcell, Richard A.

WYNANTSKILL

— Richard A. Purcell, a longtime resident of Wynantskill, passed away on May 21, 2022, in

Troy.

He was the son of the late Alfred and Florence Maslinuas-purcell; and beloved husband of Jane (Berrien) Purcell. Richard will be remembered by his family and friends as a family man and an avid outdoorsman. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening, being in nature and sharing those times with his family.

Richard was a United States Coast Guard veteran, proudly serving his country. Upon his return home, Richard started his career at William’s Press in Menands, and retired from Hamilton Printing in Castleton.

In addition to his wife, Jane, Richard is survived by his son, Michael J. Purcell. Richard was predeceased by his son, Stephen A. Purcell who passed on February 11, 2022.

In a final act of kindness, Richard had requested that his remains be donated to the Albany Medical College for the betterment of medical science and health practices. Services were held privately.
