LAS VEGAS, Nev. — Nancy A. Beaudoin passed away on Sunday, May 15, 2022, after first battling lung cancer while ultimately succumbing to an extremely aggressive form of leukemia. She was 73 years old.

Nancy was born in Glens Falls on November 17, 1948, to Henry and Lillian Beaudoin. She graduated from high school in Albany and became a registered nurse after completing her education in 1969 at Hudson River State Hospital in Poughkeepsie. Nancy’s career in nursing spanned 40 years with a number of challenging positions in New York and the great state of Alaska. The final stop involved working at the Anchorage Senior Center as a home health outreach nurse. Some of the most memorable moments of her life occurred when she and her husband, Gary Schwarz, embarked upon a one-year hiatus from work to travel throughout North America. If you really want to get to know someone, drive 18,000 miles in a cabover camper with two dogs, from The Last Frontier to Newfoundland and back, heading north, south, east, or west, following each day’s whim, while stopping at every interesting spot during a full 12 months. Upon retiring in 2009, Nancy and her husband moved to northern Idaho for two years, then on to Las Vegas for 11 more. In Las Vegas, she satisfied her affection for furry creatures through pets at home and, in challenging rescue efforts with numerous other committed volunteers.

Nancy was preceded in death by both her parents and her three brothers, Phillip, Barry and Harvey. She is survived by her sister, Marianne Jones and brotherin-law, Earl Jones of Menands. She also leaves behind numerous nieces and nephews. Lastly, Nancy is survived by her husband, who remains grateful beyond words for the woman who made their time together the best 32 years of his life. Thank you Honey! See you at the fountains.
