Zaremba, Jeffrey W.

-

AVERILL PARK — Jeffrey W. Zaremba, aged 65, passed away peacefully at home on June 3, 2022, after a short battle with cancer.

The middle child of Jacqueline (Haines) Zaremba Stickles and the late Chester J. Zaremba Sr., Jeff was born in Hudson and raised in New Lebanon. From an early age, Jeff was enamored by the trucks that passed their home on Route 22 and wanted nothing more than to drive trucks one day. After graduating from high school, he did just that, driving everything from the delivery truck for Delsonno’s Meat Packing in Canaan to concrete trucks for County Concrete in Pitts(where for County Concrete in Pittsfield and Bonded Concrete in West Sand Lake and finally his dream job of driving tractor trailers for New England Motor Freight. He retired in 2005 to spend time with his daughters, who he adored and cherished.

In true truck driver fashion, Jeff loved hanging out at truck stops and diners, drinking coffee, and discussing just about any topic. Hobbies like growing giant pumpkins, attending NASCAR races, or riding his motorcycles evolved over time but one thing that never changed was his love for cooking and baking for family and friends, especially creating and trying out new recipes. If Jeff prepared one of his smoked BBQ chickens for you, you were in for an amazing meal.

In addition to his mother, Jeff is survived by his wife of 39 years, Mary (Collins) Zaremba; daughters, Rebecca (Nathan) Mccarthy and Amanda Zaremba; twin granddaughters, Leah and Rose Mccarthy; brother, Chester (Lisa) Zaremba; sister, Barbara Zaremba and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
