John Fitzpatrick has been in ad sales and was an extra in “The Guilded Age” in Troy. Now the Albany native and Ualbany grad has written and directed his first film. “Sonder” is a story about a young man attempting to navigate his feelings and addictions, and is being shown this weekend in Glens Falls.

Visual arts
Spc. Abigail Jenks lost her life in the Army while on duty at Fort Bragg, N.C. She was the first woman from the Capital Region to enlist as a paratrooper in a combat role. A lifelong artist, her works will be on display at this event to benefit Home for Homeless Veteran Women of Ballston Spa.
