If you are a dad, it’s a given that you want to be at Albany’s Dad Fest in Washington Park. If you are a dad who likes classic cars, live music, food trucks and locally made ties, it’s better yet. (Well, we’re not positive about the ties.) Or just kick back in the park and enjoy a lovely summer’s day.

Radioradiox, Xperience and Mirth Films teamed up to create Listen Up Awards, as new fan-nominated and fanvoted music award ceremony for area artists. The groups promise the award presenters will not be affiliated with them, but will be drawn from people in the local music scene. In addition, performers this inaugural ceremony can’t be nominated and this year’s winners cannot be nominated next year.

History
Celebrate the 200th birthday (technically April 27, 1822) of the 18th president of the United States, Ulysses S. Grant, in his final home with an open house of the cottage, complimentary birthday cake, music, a magician, games, face painting, a General Grant performer, the 77th NY Regiment Balladeers, reenactors and more. Attendees will be given small American flags as souvenirs.
