LATHAM — Catherine “Kitty” Nielsen Clark, 74 of Latham, died peacefully of acute lymphoma surrounded by family on Monday, January 30, 2023.

Kitty was born on January 26, 1949, in Albany, the beloved daughter of the late John and Marie (Noonan) Nielsen. Kitty grew up in Albany, immersed in her vibrant and loving family. She was the second oldest of six, Dona Marie (Bill) Munro, Jack (Sylvia) Nielsen, Dwight (Helen) Nielsen, Annmarie Nielsen (Ed), and Walter (Lori) Nielsen.

Kitty graduated from Cardinal Mccloskey High School in 1967, worked for years as a registered nurse at St. Peter’s before going back to earn her master’s in public health and clinical nursing, and went on to become a nurse practition­er. Kitty retired in 2020 after working for nearly 30 years at Albany Family Practice.

Kitty married her love, Bruce Clark, in 1973 and was the heart and soul of her strong and loving family. She was the adoring mother of Sara Clark (John), Megan (Christophe­r) Kelly, and Kate (Bill) Fitzgerald; and the devoted and cherished grandmothe­r of Nolan, Ian, Reid, Gavin, Colin, Catherine, William, Georgia, Fiona, and Daphne. Kitty is additional­ly survived by an abundance of adoring cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Kitty lived life with vibrancy, whether it was in her running many marathons, socializin­g with friends, or 䱆µ± ·³‹µ·µ5 ¯‹† ±±†5one she loved. She relished family beach vacations and treasured time with her grandkids. Her unwavering love and devotion to her family and friends will leave an indelible mark forevermor­e.

Relatives and friends are invited visit with Kitty’s family on Friday, February 3, from 4 to 7 p.m. at St. Pius X Church, 23 Crumitie Road, Loudonvill­e. Please enter the church from the Parish Life Center main doorway. Funeral services on Saturday, February 4, at 10 a.m. in St. Pius X Church where her funeral Mass will be celebrated. The Rite of Committal will be held in St. Agnes Cemetery immediatel­y following the Mass.
