GUILDERLAN­D — Virginia C. Collins, with her daughters by her side, died peacefully on Monday, January 31, 2023, at the Teresian House.

Born on November 28, 1928, the daughter of the late Neil and Anna Childs, she was a lifelong resident of Guilderlan­d. She was a graduate of Vincentian Institute and an enduring parishione­r of All Saints (St. Margaret Mary’s) Parish. She retired from the Watervliet Arsenal after many years of service. Ginny was an avid bowler and an active member of Western Turnpike Golf Course.

Ginny was predecease­d by her husband of 61 years, Donald E. Collins; her brothers, Neil and William Childs; and her sister, Barbara (Childs) Coogan. She is survived by her daughters, Joanne (Thomas) Passineau and Sharon (David) Barcomb; her brother, Joseph Childs; her grandchild­ren, Lisa (Roger) Keating, Stacey (Douglas) Breakell, Heather (David) Tagliaferr­o, Megan (George) Polino, and Gregory (Andrea) Barcomb, and 11 great-grandchild­ren.

Funeral services will be held in the Hans Funeral Home, 1088 Western Ave., Albany on Tuesday at 8:15 a.m., and from there to All Saints Catholic Church, 16 Homestead St., Albany (behind CVS), where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9 a.m. Relatives and friends are invited, and may call at the funeral home on Monday from 4-7 p.m. Interment will be in Memory Gardens, Colonie.
