BOYS’ BASKETBALL RANKINGS
The vast majority of playoff contests will be played either Tuesday or Wednesday in the first round. There are three-opening round contests set for Friday.
Those games are No. 19 Cairo-durham at No. 14 Taconic Hills, No. 18 Coxsackie-athens at No. 15 Johnstown and No. 17 Ravena at No. 16 Broadalbinperth.
CLASS AA
1. Ballston Spa (19-1, Last Week No. 1):

Senior point guard Nick Verdile topped the scoring sheet with 31 points, leading the Scotties to a come-from-behind 71-57 victory against Saratoga Springs.

The Eagles closed Suburban Council play with a 77-60 win against Troy, their 11th straight victory, and will begin their playoff journey against Niskayuna on Wednesday.
▪ 3. Saratoga Springs (15-5, LW No. 4): The Blue Streaks closed out their regularseason schedule by posting a 51-39 win against Guilderland and will open sectional play against the Dutchmen on Wednesday.

▪ 2. Amsterdam (19-1, LW No. 2): Senior guard Ceasar Thompson led the way for the Rams, ranked No. 14 in the state, with 27 points Sunday in a 78-51 win against Hudson Falls.

3. Hudson Falls (16-4, LW No. 3):
The Tigers landed the No. 2 seed for sectionals despite dropping their last two regular-season contests against Glens Falls and Amsterdam.

4. Lansingburgh (16-4, LW No. 4):
Wesley Mcintyre topped four players in double digits with 20 points in leading the Knights past Mohonasen 58-49.
▪ 5. Troy (11-9, LW No. 5): Stetson Merritt pumped in 28 points Monday night as the Flying Horses posted a 66-59 win at Utica Academy of Science.

CLASS B
1. CCHS (19-1, LW No. 1):

Darien Moore reached the 1,000-point plateau during his freshman year in the third quarter of a 61-53 setback at Albany Academy as the Crusaders’ 19-game winning streak was snapped.
▪ 2. Tamarac (18-2, LW No. 2): The Bengals, ranked No. 4 in the state, bring a 14game winning streak into sectional play after winning the Wasaren League Tournament title with a 74-43 victory over Hoosic Valley.

3. Glens Falls (15-5, LW No. 3):
The Indians, seeded third, will open sectional play Tuesday against the winner of Friday’s play-in contest between No. 19 Cairo-durham and No. 14 Taconic Hills.

4. Fonda (17-3, LW No. 4):
The Braves were outscored 14-1 over the last six minutes in dropping a 45-39 decision to Duanesburg in the Western Athletic Conference Cup final.

The Sabres enter sectional play vs. Hudson riding a season-high winning streak of five games.

1. Duanesburg (20-0, LW No. 1):

The Eagles edged Fonda 45-39 to win the WAC Cup for the first time and complete the regular season undefeated.

2. Hoosic Valley (17-3, LW No. 2):
The Indians, seeded No. 2 in the Class C sectionals, finished second behind Tamarac in the Wasaren League.

3. Stillwater (16-4, LW No. 3):
The Warriors completed Wasaren League play with a 76-68 victory over Mechanicville.
▪ 4. Chatham (16-4, LW No. 4): The Panthers, ranked
No. 10 in the state, dropped a 70-37 verdict Tuesday at Class AA foe Mekeel Christian Academy.
▪ 5. Greenwich (13-7, LW No. 5): After completing their Wasaren League slate with a 63-54 win against Hoosick Falls on Feb. 10, the Witches will meet the Panthers again next Friday in Class CC quarterfinal play at HVCC.

1. North Warren (15-5, LW No. 1):

Derrick Tyrell delivered 23 points and Semaj Cuyler added 16 points as the Cougars beat Granville 77-56 for the Adirondack League championship.
▪ 2. Northville (15-5, LW No. 2): The Falcons completed their regular-season schedule by posting a 50-41 win against Mayfield.
▪ 3. Argyle (12-8, LW No. 3): The Scots, paced by 25 points from Dru Austin, produced a 77-66 Adirondack League victory over Hadley-luzerne.
▪ 4. Loudonville Christian (8-8, LW No. 4): The Eagles will enter sectional play having won six of their past eight games.

5. Hawthorne Valley (8-8, LW NR):
The Wildcats return to the poll on the strength of their 57-50 triumph over Dover.
