Reyna on U.S. men’s soccer roster

NEW YORK — Gio Reyna, whose parents tried to oust U.S. coach Gregg Berhalter after the 20-year-old midfielder was sparingly used at the World Cup, was selected Wednesday by interim coach Anthony Hudson for CONCACAF Nations League matches against Grenada and El Salvador.

U.S. captain Tyler Adams will miss the matches at the end of the month because of a hamstring injury.

Goalkeeper Zack Steffen and forward Ricardo Pepi are on the 24-man roster after Berhalter left them off of the World Cup squad.

Napoli to Champions quarters

NAPLES, Italy — Napoli beat Eintracht Frankfurt 3-0 on Wednesday to reach the Champions League quarterfin­als for the first time in its history — and making it three Italian teams in the final eight. Victor Osimhen continued his fine scoring record with a goal in each half and Piotr Zieliński converted a penalty in the second half as Napoli advanced 5-0 on aggregate. Osimhen took his tally to 23 goals this season. Napoli could be pitted against Inter Milan or AC Milan when the draw is made on Friday. The other teams in the final eight are Bayern Munich, Benfica, Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid, which beat Liverpool 1-0 in Wednesday’s other match to advance 6-2 on aggregate.

Plea for equal World Cup pay

The global profession­al soccer players' union says it sent a letter signed by 150 women's national team players to FIFA calling for equal World Cup prize money. FIFPRO confirmed that the letter, which also asks for equal treatment and conditions for women's teams playing in soccer's most prestigiou­s tournament, was sent to the sport's internatio­nal governing body in October — a month before the start of the men’s World Cup in Qatar. The Women's World Cup is set for this summer in Australia and New Zealand.

AUGUSTA, Ga. — Scottie Scheffler, the 2022 Masters champion, finally decided on his menu when he hosts the Masters Club dinner.

Scheffler said he would serve steak and cheeseburg­er sliders, firecracke­r shrimp and tortilla soup, sides of macaroni and cheese, jalapeño creamed corn, fried Brussels sprouts and seasoned fries, and for dessert, chocolate chip cookies and ice cream.

Stuhec, Kriechmayr ski winners

SOLDEU, Andorra — Ilka Stuhec completed her downhill season Wednesday by edging Sofia Goggia for victory at the World Cup Finals.

In the men’s downhill, Vincent Kriechmayr took advantage of Aleksander Aamodt Kilde being slightly off his game to take his fourth race win of the season.
