▪ The Leadership Capital Region class of 2023’s project will be with the Connect Center, a community hub for connection and empowermen­t for youth developmen­t programs located in Cohoes. The class will work with the Connect Center to complete a Community Outreach Renewal and Expansion Project that will address food insecurity by improving the storage and distributi­on of food items to the local community at their location.

▪ The Zoom course You Can Be a Freelance Writer will be held from 1 to 4 p.m. Saturday, March 25, through SUNY Adirondack. Instructor Pauline Bartel will teach the basics of the business plus tricks of the trade to launch a successful freelance writing business. Registrati­on is $49 and includes a course book. ▪ The Albany Job Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday, April 19, at The Holiday Inn Express & Conference Center in Latham at 400 Old Loudon Road. ▪ Hunters took an estimated 458 bears in the Northern Zone and an estimated 860 bears in the Southern Zone, an increase of 14 percent in the north compared to the previous year and a decrease of 9 percent in the south, according to the state Department of Environmen­tal Conservati­on.

▪ Associates of Glens Falls Insurance hired Mitchell Brayman as sales and service associate. Brayman holds a New York state Insurance Agents’ License in Property and Casualty Insurance.
