▪ Community Foundations of the Hudson Valley President & CEO Sally Cross announced this week that she will be stepping down from the post she has held for the past three years in May “after having witnessed profound growth and impact” at the regional charitable organization during her nine-year tenure. A transition committee has been formed to ensure the continuity of the foundation’s day-to-day operations as well as to work with the board, staff and community partners to conduct a formal and thorough search for a new leader.
▪ On the weekends of March 25-26 and April 1-2, the Hoosac Valley Train Ride will run its Easter Bunny Hop Trains, at noon, 1:00 and 2:30 p.m. to and from Adams, Mass. All trains board and depart from 5 Hoosac St. in Adams. Tickets can be purchased online at www.berkshiretrains.org/tickets.
The Community Loan Fund’s second Business Planning Course of 2023 is April 22 to June 17. In-person attendance is offered. The course allows entrepreneurs across the region to learn planning concepts and tools such as developing a business plan, proper marketing strategies and financial management. Tuition: $275. ▪ Jonathan Schiller has been appointed as Garnet Health’s president and CEO and will officially begin on June 1. Jerry Dunlavey will remain Garnet Health’s interim president and CEO as well as Garnet Health Medical Centercatskills’ chief operating officer through May 31 and become CEO of Garnet Health Medical Center-catskills on June 1.
▪ Excelsior University has again earned the 2023-2024 Military Friendly School designation. More than 1,800 schools participated in the survey and Excelsior was awarded this ranking for going above the standard. The list will be published in the May and October issue of G.I.
