A look at the week’s top performers: Darien Moore, CCHS boys’ basketball: The freshman standout generated a game-high 29 points (10-for-17 shooting) in a 66-61 loss to Westhill in the Class B state final and also tallied 23 points (9-for-16 shooting), 10 rebounds and three assists in a 65-52 decision over Southampton.
Sei'mir Roberson, CCHS boys’ basketball: Combined to produce 37 points, including 24 in a semifinal win over Southampton, in joining teammate Darien Moore on the Class B state all-tournament team.
Qwameik Smith, CCHS boys' basketball: Contributed seven points and eight rebounds in a 65-52 win over Southampton and added four points and seven rebounds in a 66-61 setback to Westhill in the Class B state final.
Derreck Tyrell, North Warren boys' basketball: Finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds in the Cougars’ 47-46 loss to Chapel Field Christian in the Class D semifinals.

girls' basketball: The junior forward battled through foul trouble to produce 19 points (8-for-11 shooting), nine rebounds and five blocked shots in 24 minutes in a 47-42 Class A state semifinal loss against eventual state champion Walter Panas.
Kayleigh Ahern, Averill Park girls' basketball: Drained a trio of 3-pointers in the fourth quarter in a 47-42 setback against Walter Panas.
Tatiana Tune, Averill Park girls' basketball: Finished with five points, 15 rebounds and three assists in the
Warriors’ 47-42 loss vs. Walter Panas.
Stylianna Mantzouris, Albany Academy for Girls' basketball: The senior led the Bears with 13 points in their 70-50 loss against Putnam Valley in the Class B state semifinals.
Saige Randolph, Albany Academy for Girls' basketball: Tallied nine points, nine rebounds and four steals in a 70-50 defeat against Putnam Valley.
Norah Niesz, Greenwich girls' basketball: The senior guard concluded her scholastic basketball career by scoring a team-high 22 points as the Witches dropped a 70-52 decision against Millbrook in the Class C state semifinals.
Grace Autiello, Greenwich girls' basketball: Netted 16 points, including going 4-for-10 on 3-pointers, in a 70-52 loss against Millbrook.
Brooke Kuzmich, Greenwich girls' basketball: A freshman guard, Kuzmich generated 10 points, six assists, four rebounds and four steals in the loss to Millbrook.
Mia'rose Wylie, Bishop Gibbons girls' basketball: Delivered 22 points, making 8 of 13 shots, 11 rebounds and three assists in the Golden Knights’ loss against Oxford Academy in the Class D state semifinals.
Angelina Deitz, Bishop Gibbons girls' basketball: The junior scored 16 points and grabbed five rebounds in a 75-54 defeat against Oxford Academy.
Caroline Murphy, Tamarac girls' indoor track: The sophomore finished fifth in the high jump with a height of 5 feet, 1⁄4 inch at the Adidas Track Nationals in Virginia Beach.
Team of the week
CCHS boys' basketball: The Crusaders were the only area team among six to reach a championship game as they defeated Southampton 65-52 in the semifinal. CCHS dropped a 66-61 decision against Westhill in the Class B state final Sunday at Cool Insuring Arena to finish 24-2.
