Bethlehem sweeps rival Averill Park

Bethlehem improved to 5-2 on the season with a 3-0 sweep of rival Averill Park on Tuesday in a Suburban Council girls’ volleyball match.

Avery Bush had 19 assists and Anna Watson added nine kills for the Eagles, who won by scores of 25-14, 25-19 and 25-18. Caroline Davis chipped in with seven kills for Bethlehem.

Grace Kelley had four kills and Hannah Daly finished with seven assists for Averill Park.

More girls’ volleyball: Ichabod Crane swept La Salle in a Colonial Council matchup. Emma Holmberg had nine aces, four kills and seven digs to lead the Riders, who won by scores of 25-8, 25-7 and 26-24. Ally Flint added four aces and seven kills for Ichabod Crane. Eden Barrett had five kills and Emma Ryan chipped in with nine assists for La Salle.

Girls’ soccer: Keyndyl Ouimette scored off an assist from Emma Potter to give Columbia a 1-0 win over Niskayuna . ... Casey Holstein and Gabby Crellin each had a goal and an assist in Bethlehem’s 5-0 win over Averill Park . ... Gianna Cirilla scored three goals to help Schalmont coast to a 6-0 win over La Salle in a Colonial Council game. Boys’ golf: La Salle defeated Schalmont 160-208 in a Colonial Council match. Braeden Wessels and Nick Crudo tied with top scores of 39 to lead La Salle to the win. Dannah Smith had a 42 for Schalmont . ... Nate Salvadore fired a 35 to lead Mechanicvi­lle to a 5-0 win over Saratoga Catholic. The Red Raiders improved to 15-0.

Field hockey: Emma Maynard scored two goals and Abigail Kittell made 15 saves to lead Queensbury to a 3-0 win over Glens Falls in a Foothills Council game.
