TSA plans hiring fairs in October
COLONIE — The Transportation Security Administration is putting on three local job fairs during October seeking officers at Albany International Airport.
There are openings for fulland part-time jobs at Albany with a starting salary of $47,047.
Applicants do not need previous experience working in security or law enforcement fields. New hires will receive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and are paid while training.
The upcoming job fairs are:
• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 4 at Suite B at the Holiday Inn Express,
400 Old Loudon Road, Latham.
• 2 to 5 p.m., Oct. 11 at Crossgates Mall, Guilderland.
• 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Oct. 12 at the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center Job Fair, a division of the Hudson Valley Community College, 431 River St., Troy.
TSA officers screen thousands of airline travelers daily, with the task of ensuring that they arrive at their destinations safely. TSA expects to screen a greater volume of travelers regularly this year and needs more officers.
