COLONIE — The Transportation Security Administration is putting on three local job fairs during October seeking officers at Albany International Airport.

There are openings for fulland part-time jobs at Albany with a starting salary of $47,047.

Applicants do not need previous experience working in security or law enforcement fields. New hires will receive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center and are paid while training.

The upcoming job fairs are:

• 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Oct. 4 at Suite B at the Holiday Inn Express,

400 Old Loudon Road, Latham.

• 2 to 5 p.m., Oct. 11 at Crossgates Mall, Guilderland.

• 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., Oct. 12 at the Capital District Educational Opportunity Center Job Fair, a division of the Hudson Valley Community College, 431 River St., Troy.

TSA officers screen thousands of airline travelers daily, with the task of ensuring that they arrive at their destinations safely. TSA expects to screen a greater volume of travelers regularly this year and needs more officers.

According to the TSA, the benefits of working for the agency include paid training, paid annual and sick leave, contributions to the Thrift Savings Plan, contributions to retirement, strong health care plans. TSA said it is committed to a diverse, equitable, and inclusive work environment and encourages those of all backgrounds to apply, including military veterans and persons with disabilities.
