Upset shuffles top of Class C

Playoffs are set to begin in Class A and B next week, while Class AA, C and D sectional play starts in Week 9.

Two of the top games on the Week 7 schedule are a Class A Capital Division showdown to determine the No. 2 and 3 seeds as La Salle plays at Bethlehem on Friday and a winner-take-all Class D contest between rivals Greenwich and Cambridge/salem on Saturday for the No. 4 seed in Class D.

Class AA

1. Shenendeho­wa (6-0, Last week No. 1):

Blake Mello caught five passes for 63 yards and one touchdown, plus added two touchdown runs, as Shen defeated Saratoga Springs 34-0.

2. CBA (5-1, LW No. 2): Senior quarterbac­k Jake Iacobaccio threw three touchdown passes and returned an intercepti­on 50 yards for a touchdown in leading the Brothers past Guilderlan­d 34-0.

3. Shaker (5-2, LW No. 3): The Blue Bison used a strong ground game to pull away from Ballston Spa in the second half and post a 41-14 road victory over the Scotties.

4. Ballston Spa (4-3, LW No. 4): The Scotties look to secure an all-important fourth Class AA win Friday at home against Schenectad­y.

5. Saratoga Springs (3-4, LW No. 5): The Blue Streaks seek to avoid a three-game losing streak when they host CBA on Friday.

Class A

1. Niskayuna (6-1, LW No. 1): Niskayuna reached the 40-point plateau for the third consecutiv­e game last week with a 40-7 win over Albany.

2. Burnt Hills-ballston Lake (5-1, LW No. 2): DJ Mosher rushed for one touchdown each during the first, second and third quarters to help produce a 34-20 verdict over Queensbury.

3. Averill Park (5-2, LW No. 3): Junior running back Jacob Phelps ran for two touchdowns, caught two passes for touchdowns and intercepte­d a pass in Averill Park’s 27-17 win against La Salle.

4. Bethlehem (6-1, LW No. 4):

high total in points scored last week as they registered a 55-12 Capital Division victory against Columbia.

5. La Salle (4-3, LW No. 5):

Matt Bott paced the offense with 149 yards rushing and two touchdowns in a 27-17 loss against Averill Park.

Class B

1. Ravena-coeymansse­lkirk (7-0, LW No. 1):

Ravena concludes its Reinfurt Division slate Friday with a contest at Ichabod Crane.

2. Glens Falls (6-0, LW No. 2):

The junior combinatio­n of quarterbac­k Brody Holcomb to Kellen Driscoll connected four times on touchdown passes as the Black Bears beat Scotia 4714.

3. Schalmont (5-1, LW No. 3):

The Sabres get to compete Friday on the field for the fifth time (they own two wins via forfeit) at home vs. Green Tech.

4. Lansingbur­gh (6-2, LW No. 5):

Collects a fourth win in the Reinfurt Division as Hudson has forfeited the remainder of its

5. Mechanicvi­lle/ Hoosic Valley (4-3, LW Not rated):

Can lock up a home game for the playoffs with a win at Gloversvil­le on Friday.

Class C

1. Hoosick Falls/tamarac (6-1, LW No. 3):

Richie Stifter caught a 72-yard touchdown pass on the first play from scrimmage and also scooped up a fumble and returned it 93 yards for a touchdown in the third quarter as the Wildcats stunned Schuylervi­lle 19-7.

T2. Fonda-fultonvill­e (6-1, LW No. 2):

Keegan Croucher completed scoring tosses covering 19, 50, 40 and 51 yards in a 55-0 victory against Coxsackiea­thens.

T2. Schuylervi­lle (6-1, LW No. 1):

The Black Horses hit the road Friday for a game against Coxsackiea­thens.

4. Johnstown (4-3, LW No. 4):

Ryan Hoyt rushed for 114 yards and scored a pair of touchdowns in the first half, helping the Sir Bills produce a 61-0 decision over Rensselaer/loudonvill­e Christian.

5. Cobleskill (3-4, LW No. 5):

Kyber Henry ran for

74 yards and two touchdowns and returned an intercepti­on for a touchdowns as the Bulldogs beat Granville/whitehall 28-6.

Class D

1. Warrensbur­g/lake George/bolton (7-0, LW No. 1):

Junior running back Ben Sheldon ran for a trio of touchdowns and also hauled in a 71-yard touchdown pass from Caden Allen as the Wolverines defeated Stillwater 50-7.

2. Stillwater (6-1, LW No. 2):

Stillwater completes its Class D schedule Saturday when it entertains Helderberg Valley.

3. Canajohari­e/fort Plain (5-1, LW No. 3):

The Cougars get a chance to face the top team in the classifica­tion at home Friday when they take on Warrensbur­g/ Lake George/bolton.

4. Greenwich (4-3, LW No. 4):

Matt Conlin rolled up 173 yards and three touchdowns rushing to power the Witches past Voorheesvi­lle 48-7.

5. Cambridge/salem (3-4, LW No. 5):

Braxter Mattson and Brice Burr combined to rush for 295 yards and five touchdowns in a 54-21 triumph over Helderberg Valley.
