Avery, Gail Patricia Tague

BALLSTON SPA

-

— Gail Patricia Tague Avery, 79, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on September 28, 2023. Gail was born on July 11, 1944, in Troy. She was a graduate of Lansingburgh High School. She married Brad Avery when she was just 20 and lived on several naval bases in Georgia and Virginia before returning to Troy where she lived for many years and raised her children. She worked at Playtex for 20-plus years and then at Hometown Healthcare. In her later life, she lived in Virginia and in Ohio before returning home to the Capital Region area.

Gail was an avid reader and loved her soap operas. She loved to feed the birds and be surrounded by flowers. She loved to crochet and if you knew her, you probably had one of her beautiful blankets. She was well known for her spaghetti dinners. The recipe has been passed down from one generation to the next with varying degrees of success. Many came close but hers was still the best!

Other than family, her greatest loves throughout her life were slot machines, Bingo and CB radios back in the day. One thing you could say about Gail is that she was one lucky lady. She was one of the few who actually won more than she lost!

Gail had been ill for several months. She is now in heaven with her mother, Ruth Walters Tague, her father, Francis (Tance) Tague, and her brother, Ronnie Tague. She is survived by her children, Vicki Valenti Cinella (Frank), Brad Avery, and Eric Avery (Lori); and her sister, Dawn Naylor. She is also survived by six grandchildren, four great-great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews

Per Gail’s wishes, there will be a Mass held in her name at St. Augustine’s Church on Saturday, October 21, at 9:30 a.m. We would love for you to attend. She will be missed.

In lieu of flowers, please forward donations to the Community Hospice of Saratoga County (Maura, thank you so much for all that you did).
