Eagles rise to top of Class C

This is the latest edition of the boys’ basketball rankings list. The girls’ basketball rankings run each Friday.

There are 19 state-ranked teams among the six classifica­tions. Leading the list of this week’s contests is a Colonial Council matchup Friday pitting Lansingbur­gh against Catholic Central.

Class AAA

1. Colonie (11-0, Last week No. 1):

Julius Reed tallied 23 points and reserve Cam Curet added 19 points in a 75-68 triumph over Shaker.

2. Green Tech (8-5, LW No. 4):

U’mier Graham and Haisi Mayben each scored 15 points, helping power the 20th-ranked Eagles past University Prep (Rochester) 70-40.

3. Shaker (9-2, LW No. 2): The Blue Bison look to snap a twogame losing streak Tuesday with a Suburban Council home contest against Saratoga Springs.

4. Schenectad­y (7-5, LW No. 5): Quymaine Haggray pumped in 29 points as the Patriots defeated Troy 82-78.

5. CBA (7-4, LW No. 3):

After splitting a pair of Suburban Council contests last week, the Brothers seek their biggest win of the season Tuesday when they entertain league leader Colonie.

Class AA

1. Albany Academy (8-3, LW No. 1):

Cyrus Matia produced 18 points and Arthur Foster finished with 17 points as the Cadets beat Troy 82-71.

2. Mekeel Christian Academy (8-0, LW No. 2): The Lions remained undefeated Saturday by posting a 66-64 victory against Maspeth.

3. Niskayuna (10-2, LW No. 3): Ethan Gilson delivered 33 points, featuring nine 3-pointers, in a 67-58 verdict over Ballston Spa.

4. La Salle (10-4, LW No. 4): Robert Sieluna scored 21 points and Tra’dell Faison added 20 points, helping the Cadets record a 72-52 win against Bishop Ludden.

5. Bethlehem (10-3, LW No. 5): Senior forward Cam Laclair topped all scorers with 22 points, helping the Eagles defeat Burnt Hills-ballston Lake 52-36.

Class A

1. CCHS (11-1, LW No. 1):

Sophomore stars Darien Moore (32 points) and Sei’mir Roberson (30 points) helped guide the Crusaders to an impressive 85-50 victory against Our Lady of Lourdes at La Salle’s Martin Luther King Tournament.

2. Glens Falls (13-0, LW No. 2): The Black Bears, ranked No. 5 in the state, utilized 25 points from junior star Kellen Driscoll in an 8656 win against Glovervill­e.

3. Lansingbur­gh (10-3, LW No. 3): Aayden Green paced the

Knights with 32 points in their 63-51 victory over Ichabod Crane.

4. Ichabod Crane (8-3, LW No. 4): The Riders play at Berlin/new Lebanon on Tuesday and host Cohoes on Friday.

5. Schalmont (7-6, LW No. 5): Elijah Smith finished with a game-high 26 points as the Sabres scored a 57-36 win against Cohoes.

Team to watch: Gloversvil­le (8-5)

Class B

1. Stillwater (12-0, LW No. 1):

Jaxon Mueller generated 22 points and 16 rebounds and Lukas Lilac added 17 points, seven rebounds and five assists in a 63-46 Wasaren League win against Hoosic Valley.

2. Mechanicvi­lle (9-2, LW No. 4): Senior guard Colin Richardson led the way with 20 points in a 75-34 victory over Waterfordh­alfmoon.

3. Watervliet (12-1, LW No. 3):

Daheem Wilson paced the Cannoneers with 24 points in their 64-58 verdict over Greenville in Patroon Conference play.

(11-1, LW The Bluehawks produced a monster week in Patroon Conference action with victories over Watervliet (68-54) and Maple Hill (71-41).

5. Fonda-fultonvill­e (9-1, LW No. 2): Brady Melious poured in a seasonbest 36 points in a 72-43 win against South Glens Falls.

Teams to watch: Hoosick Falls (7-5), Schuylervi­lle (9-3)

4. Hudson Not rated): Class C

1. Duanesburg (10-2, LW No. 2): Jeffrey Mulhern pumped in 34 points in a 7637 decision over Middleburg­h and contribute­d 31 points to the Eagles’ 67-18 victory over Northville.

2. Hoosic Valley (8-5, LW No. 3): The Hawks, ranked No. 20 in the state, play host to Waterford-halfmoon on Tuesday in Wasaren League play.

3. Maple Hill (8-4, LW No. 1): The Wildcats seek a bounce-back effort Tuesday against Catskill following consecutiv­e losses to Greenville and Hudson.

4. Berne-knox-westerlo (9-4, LW No. 4):

AJ Wright delivered 28 points as the Bulldogs beat Canajohari­e 73-39 in Western Athletic Conference action.

5. Saratoga Central Catholic (8-5, LW No. 5):

Aidan Crowther drained six 3-pointers in a 21-point performanc­e in helping lead the Saints past Tamarac.

Class D

1. North Warren (8-2, LW No. 1): Semaj Cuyler netted 20 points in a 57-54 victory against Hadley-luzerne and produced 22 points as the Cougars defeated Whitehall 50-42.

2. Argyle (7-2, LW No. 2): The Scots could not keep up with Warrensbur­g in dropping a 71-31 Adirondack League decision.

3. Loudonvill­e Christian (9-3, LW No. 3):

Five players for the Eagles scored in double digits in a 95-38 victory against Sharon Springs.

4. Fort Edward (5-4, LW No. 4):

Defense has been vital for the Flying Forts as they have not allowed an opponent to surpass 51 points.

5. Hawthorne Valley (3-3, LW No. 5):

Up next for the Wildcats is a game against Hunter-tannersvil­le on Thursday.

Team to watch: Hartford (5-7)
