HUDSON — Christophe­r Filli, loving husband, father, son, and sibling, passed away on Friday, January 12, 2024, in Hudson, New York while on duty serving the community he loved so dearly. Born on January 19, 1973, Christophe­r is the son of Theodore and Jacqueline (Slominski) Filli. He attended St. Mary’s Academy, St. Patrick’s in Catskill, and graduated from Hudson High School upon both Academies closing. Following graduation, he attended Zone 14 Police Academy at Columbia-greene Community College. Christophe­r’s law enforcemen­t career started with the Copake Police Department and the Philmont Police Department. In October of 2001, he was hired by the Hudson Police Department and became a School Resource Officer in September, 2005. His exemplary service earned him a promotion to Detective in 2008, where he served in the Juvenile and Narcotics Unit. Christophe­r was then promoted to Sergeant in 2017 and Senior Sergeant in July, 2022, where he served until the end of his watch. When he wasn’t serving and protecting the City of Hudson, he enjoyed his second career as proprietor of Chris Filli & Son Tree Service Inc. ?Chris will be forever loved by his parents Theodore “Ted” and Jacqueline Filli; his siblings, Theodore Jr. (Carmen) of North Carolina, Brian of Claverack, Dana of Claverack, Damon (Ashley) of New Lebanon, Brendan (Amanda) of Kinderhook, Kyle (Suzanne) of Valatie; and aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. He created two beautiful children, Christophe­r Jr. and Abigail (Tobi), with his first wife, Denise. The family was blessed with Angelia, in 2013. Chris married the love of his life Megan in 2018, and they shared eight wonderful years together and three beautiful children: Kylie, Leighton, and Nico. Chris was happiest when he was with his family and friends. They will all remember him for his signature smirk and daily weather reports. Chris was tirelessly devoted to his wife and children, as he cherished every moment he spent with them. Chris is also survived by his father-in-law, Michael (Dianne) Mchenry; and mother-in-law, Linda (Brian) Stumbaugh. Chris was predecease­d by his grandparen­ts, John and Alice Filli and Maxmillian and Sophie Slominski. Visitation hours are Wednesday, January 17, 2024, from 4:00-8:00 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at 10:00 a.m. All services will be from Holy Trinity Church St. Mary’s Parish, East Allen St., Hudson, N.Y. Funeral arrangemen­ts are entrusted to the Bates & Anderson-redmond & Keeler Funeral Hom. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributi­ons are encouraged to be made to the Hudson Police Benevolent Associatio­n or St. Mary’s Church Hudson, N.Y.
