Play Airlines is back with another special: a leap-year flight deal of $99 fares to Iceland and $129 to six European destinations.

The low-cost Icelandic carrier is offering the discount from Feb. 23 to March 1 for flights booked for April to May or September to December this year. It includes airfare, taxes and a small personal item that goes underneath the seat in front of you. Travelers can book on flyplay.com. No promo code is needed.

The six cities included are Paris, Copenhagen, Amsterdam, London, Berlin and Dublin.

Play also recently announced a new stopover feature enabling travelers to turn their layover into a stayover of up to 10 days in Iceland, for no additional charge. When booking, travelers can add a stayover on either leg of their trip, or both the departing and returning flights.

Play was founded by two former executives of Wow Air, which suspended operations in March 2019 and declared bankruptcy. Since June 2022, it has operated daily flights from Newburgh to Reykjavik, connecting beyond to an evergrowing list of destinations. Last year, Play launched new routes to Amsterdam, Glasgow and Venice — “just in time for travelers to plan summer trips, spring getaways and spontaneous vacations,” Play CEO Birgir Jónsson said at the time.

The convenience of Stewart Airport for Hudson Valley residents is apparent. For travelers coming up from New York City, Play offers a Stewart Airport Express shuttle from Manhattan timed with its flights.

“(Stewart) is a popular airport for New York and surrounding area travelers as it offers the convenience that other airports in the area do not. It is uniquely situated as a hub for travelers in Manhattan, the growing Hudson Valley area and surrounding states,” Jónsson said.

Play’s prices are inclusive of fees, taxes and carrier charges. Restrictions and baggage fees apply (learn more about Play’s baggage fees on its website).
