This four-episode series set in 1990s Atlanta unfolds a complex web of personal stories. Paige (Ava Mone’t), a promising Spelman sophomore, veers off her path to success when she falls for a “bad boy” just before the pivotal “Freaknik” event. Adulthood disrupts their lives, pulling Paige, her long-term boyfriend Malcolm (Malcolm Xavier) and newcomer Romeo (West Montez) into a series of challenges. Meanwhile, amid Atlanta’s global Olympic spotlight, eventual mayor Robert Dawn’s (Donovan Christie Jr.) rise to power comes at the price of personal sacrifices and moral dilemmas. These and other interconne­cted stories set off a transforma­tive chain reaction in the city.

Netflix Season Premiere

This Australian thriller moves to Netflix in the U.S. for its second season. The first installmen­t (currently streaming on Netflix) followed an Irish man (Jamie Dornan) who woke up with amnesia in an Australian hospital and had to discover his identity before his past caught up with him. Season 2 takes place in Ireland, with Dornan and co-star Danielle Macdonald returning.

In the new episode “A Strudel and a Hot American Boy Toy,” Sheldon (Iain Armitage) explores Germany behind Mary’s (Zoe Perry) back.

Next Level Chef FOX, 8 p.m.

The 13 remaining chefs channel their vacation vibes when they’re tasked with preparing a next-level seafood dish inspired by tropical island cuisine in the new episode “80 Degrees and Palm Trees.”

Law & Order NBC, 8 p.m.

In the new episode “On the Ledge,” when the NYPD responds to the scene of an active shooter in a nearby hospital, Shaw (Mehcad Brooks) is shocked at his connection to the suspect. Meanwhile, Maroun (Odelya Halevi) and Price (Hugh Dancy) face a difficult trial when the defendant offers up an insanity plea.

CBS, 10 p.m. New Series

The Good Wife is branching out in another spinoff that follows character Elsbeth Tascioni. Star Carrie Preston plays the astute but unconventi­onal attorney who, after her successful career in Chicago, uses her singular point of view to make unique observatio­ns and corner brilliant criminals alongside the NYPD.
